Today is our annual cookie bake. We’ve done this for years, in fact, I can’t remember when it started. We make dozens upon dozens of cookies, put them in tins, and give them out.
We have some friends over helping us, and right now my “shadow” and a neighbor girl are playing chess. He and I finished our batches of eggnog cookies, my brother and some friends are playing hide-and-go-seek thus filling the house with happy laughs. The smell of mint, nutmeg, chocolate and peanut butter waft through the house. Bach’s Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring fills the room.
Now, I must be off to make some Norwegian Holiday cookies and peanut butter fudge…. and I believe that some coffee is in order…
Life really doesn’t get much better.
